      Introduction to Process Improvement Methodology - workshops

      Are you a SME manufacturing company looking to improve your manufacturing performance? SAM is hosting four workshops to support eligible SME manufacturing companies (registered with the SAM Project)* to improve their performance, via process improvement methodology. The workshops will provide you the basics to 'know how' principles, that will make a big difference to operations. All workshops will run every Wednesday for four weeks, from 8:30am - 1:00pm. 20th November 2019 - Workshop 1 - Understanding the challenges in you factory; getting to grips with your manufacturing ambitions Workshop focus: Managing the bigger picture Diagnosing the issues and priorities Defining the product journey Meeting the customer demand 27th November 2019 - Workshop 2 - Understanding the hidden costs of manufacturing; finding the cost and resource thieves   Workshop focus: Hidden costs of quality, inventory, production and maintenace The improtance of continuous improvement 4th December 2019 - Workshop 3 - Identifying the manufacturing improvement opportunities; tackling the issues Workshop focus: Lean thinking and the 7 wastes Improving housekeeping: techniques and 5S Techniques for performance; the 7 tools Using visual management techniques 11th December 2019 - Workshop 4 - Future proofing your manufacturing improvements; holding the gains Workshop focus: Problem Solving and concern closure Measuring the right things Setting standards and controls Managing skills and resource risks Who should attend? The workshops are suitable for production, warehouse and operations managers of all abilities and grades to attend.  All four workshops can be attended for a full understanding of the principles or you can select any workshop that you are interested in as a stand alone workshop.  Places are limited so register your place now. * Workshops are open to SME manufacturing companies in the North East LEP area and are registered onto the SAM Project.
